“ What a gem! I've been here a couple times and the food has always been fresh with refills constantly coming out! There's a section of pre-made Chinese food and a section of Mongolian ingredients that they will cook for you. Since the Chinese food looked so good I just got that. Pricing is quite affordable considering prices these days. Very happy and will definitely come back! Showed my family and my friends. Clean environment and owners are pleasant. ”
“ They now have soup! Both egg drop and hot and sour. It's $3.99 for a decent serving, which you do serve yourself. Was the one this missing for me here and they have it now. Steam table items were better also, but I suspect it was the timing of our visit. Will be here more now that I can get my soup on with my Mongolian!!! ”
“ Decided to try a new local Mongolian BBQ joint and was pleasantly surprised. I was greeted with a smile and offered assistance as it was my first time there. The veggies were very fresh, and had a variety of proteins from beef, chicken, pork, and shrimp. I loved that they had bok choy available, which isn't common for other Mongolian BBQ joints I've been to. Their sauces were a bit limited compared to some other joints out there, but what they did have was good. The chili oil and garlic went well with their house sauce. Your meal is priced by the pound, you get exactly what you pay for. Overall, very happy with the experience and will be back again soon. ”
“ Been seeing this place for a while and finally stopped by with my son that LOVES to eat. We weren't disappointed! I love that they sell it by the pound and that you're able to serve yourself. As a person who's mindful of what I eat , i love that i can get a little bit of everything without over doing it! And the food tastes delicious. The person at the register was also very helpful from the min we walked in! Very kind man. I actually like the simplicity of the restaurant, looks clean! Will definitely come back! ”
“ This place popped up on my yelp. They charged by the weight and it's $7.39 per pound for both the Mongolian and the Chinese food. The inside is very clean not much decorations. Services standard for fast casual. The food and the cook did very good and the flavors tasted great lots of garlic good sauces. Definitely will be back again and possibly on our rotation. ”
“ Ima still a big fan of this place. The food is always prepared perfectly, the choices are plenty, customer service is always good and formerly and the prices are very affordable. It is no wonder that this place is so popular Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area and are hungry. ”
“ I found myself in West Covina for work and, feeling the hunger pangs, I turned to Yelp and noticed that Sun's Mongolian had recently opened. I've been craving some quality Mongolian BBQ but usually steer clear of the mall spots, so this seemed like the perfect alternative. Sun's has a unique setup with two buffet aisles--one offering Chinese fast food and the other stocked with raw ingredients for the Mongolian BBQ. I opted for the BBQ, assembling a bowl with noodles and a mix of veggies and meats. What's interesting is that they handle the saucing as they cook your food, so you don't have to worry about doing it yourself. Once cooked, you bring your plate to the cashier, and it's weighed at $7.39 per pound. Not a bad deal to be honest. The Mongolian BBQ really hit the spot, especially after tossing in some pineapple. If you're in the area and in the mood for something quick and inexpensive Sun's is definitely worth a visit. ”
“ Here comes the sun, doo-doo-doo-doo Here comes the sun, and I say It's alright Very tasty food! My wife and kids love the noodles and the veggies. The meat was nice and tender my daughter put almost all of it on her plate. My son was all about the little corns. We weren't sure what to do when we walked in and a gentleman came behind the counter to guide us. You can build your own bowl and take it to the counter to get cooked in front of you. Or you can also choose from cooked ready to eat buffet style. There is a lot of tables to sit and enjoy. Although we took our food to go after an evening at the park. I asked for some hot sauce to go on the side because my kids aren't ready for the amount I put on top. One bowl is good to share, unless you are really hungry. Plenty of parking available. This spot is sure to add a little sun to your day. ”
“ Not your ordinary Mongolian BBQ! This place offers everything by the pound, like a buffet style. They have Chinese style food on one side and the Mongolian bbq on the other side. First grab a take out box and put as much food as you would like and they will weight it at the cashier. For the Mongolian side, same concept but you put as much as you like in the bowl they provide (feel free to use more than one) and take it to the chef to cook and put it in the box for you. The place is roomy, mainly self serve and pay before you eat. They have a few tables for dine in as well. Love this concept and you get so much food for the price! ”
“ Heard about several new restaurant locations opening up in the Covina area. Today we wanted to try Sun's. This is like almost all Mongolian BBQ's, same concept one round flat grill and the cook takes your meal and cooks it up nice and hot. This location is in another strip mall with a few major eating locations in the same mall. Parking can get congested at times (Saturdays and Sundays because of Chunky Cheese in the area) Handicapped parking stalls are two maybe three. They share parking with other businesses. Not yet rated so no letter grade in the window at the time we were there. Walking in seen a few people making and having food. Several tables and chairs enough for approximately 25-30 and seemed clean. We were greeted by a worker behind the counter and he was very nice and we asked how this all works. Yes they weight your food which isn't that expensive. A lot of options to choose from the hot grill or take out. We made our way to a self serve take out and proceeded to make our choices. Everything looked clean and food seemed fresh. Three plates to go and it was way under $35.00 !!! Hard to get this much food for a family of three for under $35.00. They also have catering available at very affordable prices. A few things I hope they take care of. HOT !!! The temperature inside the restaurant was very HOT. This is obvious because of the open flat top grill they cook some meals on. I had BBQ Pork, Orange Chicken and noodles. The BBQ Pork had some good taste to them but over salted for my taste. Noodles just didn't taste right, very dry. I'm sure some people like salt on their food and that's fine but I don't use salt at all on my food. I would say check this place out, it might be your new location for Mongolia BBQ !!!!! So here's how Sun's Mongolia BBQ in Covina, in my opinion, stacks up. Appearance: 6 of 10 (Hot inside) Food: 8 of 10 Staff: 10 of 10 Returning: 8 of 10 Until next time, Stanley.. ”
